So I thought I might start a little blog for everyone to keep up with us and be a part of our never-boring always eventful life! We like to say that no matter what we do we always turn something so simple into a complete misadventure. That's just how we roll!
We'll just start this blog where our lives really began and that's August 8th, 2012. That was the day our sweet little girl was born.
After years of trying to get pregnant our time finally came. I went in for a regular "lady" doctors appointment expecting to hear nothing new just the same ol same ol that you deal with when you have "fertility issues". I had even told Abe not to worry about coming to this appointment because it was going to be so uneventful. Well to my surprise we were having a baby. Say what?!
I spent the next 9 months being a paranoid mess! When you try so hard for something you just assume that it's too good to be true. I waited for something to go terribly wrong but fortunately my pregnancy went as smooth as it could possibly go. I was due August 7th and when that date rolled around I felt totally normal and decided I could work just one more day. I got off work went for a two mile walk, which when you are 9 months pregnant is no easy feat. We had an impromptu BBQ with some family and friends and I went to bed. BOOM! 11:00 pm hit and contractions started. I really hate to be late so starting labor on my due date just made sense. I really wanted to go all natural with the whole birthing thing but after 10 hours of labor I decided maybe the next time I would ;). The anesthesiologist came in and I swear the heavens parted, the angels sang, and that man was here to save me! He walks over and starts to tell me all that he is going to do, and because nothing goes totally smooth for us, he starts to open everything and then runs out saying "emergency c-section!" I cried, like literally, tears streaming down my face. lol. An hour and a half later I got the epidural and 3 1/2 hours later our baby girl was born. We hadn't known the gender before hand and I asked that Abe be the one to tell me and when he said "it's a girl!" I said "duh". I had known the whole time.
3 days later we brought our bundle of joy home and then the fun really began.............
